FAQs

  • Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a different approach to your primary and preventative healthcare. A monthly membership covers unlimited visits, as well as, reduced costs for labs, radiology and treatments. DPC clinics have extremely low overhead costs, because the middle-man is removed (third-party payers, ie. insurance), giving your DPC provider the ability to negotiate reduced cash prices on labs, imaging and various treatment options…..to pass those savings to you, the patient.

We don’t use our car insurance to change our oil, air our tires, or put gas in the tank. We don’t use our homeowners insurance to unclog the toilet, fix the broken faucet, or replace a fence. We pay for those things ourselves to avoid the high insurance premiums associated with such a model.

DPC clinics see fewer patients, which allows more time for individualized care. The average appointment time is 30-45 minutes with same-day or next day appointments.

  • You have unlimited visits with all forms of communication: In-office or virtual visits, phone call, text, email and house calls (if necessary) as well.

Annual physical (includes basic labs) will be covered one-time per year. Other labs if needed will be passed on to members at a reduced cost (up to 80-90% off through LabCorp) if you do not have a policy to cover these additional expenses.

School physicals for the kiddos are included as well.

Chronic Disease Management - hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disease, etc.

Acute Sick Visits - cough, urinary tract infection, sore throat, pink eye, flu, rash, etc.

In-Office Procedures including, laceration repair, ear irrigation, toenail removal, incision and drainage, sprain/strain care and more.

In-Office Medication - includes injection and breathing treatments.

  • Any additional costs (in-office medication injections/procedures) are passed on to the members at cost/near cost. Our goal is to make healthcare affordable while maintaining a viable business model.

  • No. The objective of the DPC model is to opt-out of the traditional insurance and Medicare model (Fee For Service (FFS) model). With a DPC model, you pay for direct access to a provider for quality care without interruption from a third party. This creates a competitive cash model which reduces costs to you, the patient.

Patients are able to use their insurance policy for services outside of our office (labs, prescriptions, referral appointments, etc.). Nothing outside of our office has changed. However, in many cases it is cheaper to pay cash prices for services rather than insurance deductibles/copays.

  • DOT Physicals

  • If you have insurance, you can still use your insurance/Medicare Part D for prescriptions. If paying cash, many discount options are available and will be discussed during your visit.

  • HealthShare plans couple well with DPC models to cover healthcare costs - some even cover the monthly DPC membership cost - others offer reduced rates for being a DPC member.
